@sir Damn, I didn't know it was that bad. I'll try to phase out my flatpak usage.

@sir Flatpak, AppImage, Snap are all solutions looking for a problem. Your local package manager already does pretty much all of this without any extra garbage and layers of ✨ security ✨ . Couple that with actual working security precautions and you're already ahead of the game.

@nathand @sir Are they really? AppImage claims "Linux apps that run anywhere" but I can't run them on Alpine. Snaps require systemd which isn't supported on Alpine, so... if they really are that portable why do I have to change my (linux) OS to use them?

@nathand @sir thought docker did a similar thing?

Also, dunno if software can try sandbox applications, maybe it should. (though physical machine separation is better yet) Though if the program doing so is suid/running as root it can worsen things..
