@sir I think this contains fair points, except that AMP is really more more open than it is given credit for. Other companies such as Facebook or Telegram have introduced their own "instant articles" things which are entirely proprietary and can only be read in their respective apps, under the guise of speed. AMP is a response to these (to keep the mobile web fast without locking users in somewhere), and can be implemented entirely independently of Google.
