@sir Let's just say if you have greasy fingers and you're on a 17" CRT monitor behind the counter of a small town mechanic with 7mbit DSL -- it works fucking fantastic

I'm having flashbacks about the bonded T1s that we used to manage for them now, though.
@sir hey! I used to consult for them and run their internet/website when I worked at a local ISP/datacenter

The website is kinda shitty but it's great as a parts catalog.

Ordered some parts from and was impressed by their website. It's not especially pretty but DAMN does it have lots of useful functionality

"Jumyou wo Kaitotte Moratta. Ichinen ni Tsuki, Ichimanen de.", "Oyasumi Punpun", "Love Hina", and "Kimi wa Midara na Boku no Joou" are my favorite manga reads in the past couple of years

Though good character-driven stories in the context of fantasy or scifi are totally in my wheelhouse

I should mention that I read manga for the characters moreso than for worldbuilding or anything else. Great character-focused stories are my shiz, crazy fantasy settings are deep scifi are not really my thing when it comes to manga

Recently I read Kubo-san wa Boku (Mobu) wo Yurusanai and Jumyou wo Kaitotte Moratta. Ichinen ni Tsuki, Ichimanen de.

I especially liked the latter

And ultimately, I think I'm going to sell my VR equipment on eBay.

It sucks because HL: Alyx literally the single most immersive and exciting video gaming experience I've ever had, and I'm a huge fan of the Half Life series

I really want to finish HL: Alyx, but it's SO MUCH WORK to get it going. I have to boot Steam, start SteamVR, clear a space IRL, untangle the equipment, pair the controllers, cover the window so the reflection doesn't fuck with motion tracking, put all of the equipment on, launch the game, wait 5 minutes for the menu to load, wait 5 minutes for the game to load, then play for an hour before I'm tired and sweaty and motion sick and have to quit.

I can be playing Celeste in 30 seconds, and play it for a few hours. I can be playing HL: Alyx in 30 *minutes*, and play for an hour tops.

Sauron's army stood no chance of winning against Gondor when they bring catapults to a trebuchet fight
